We are excited to offer a new product. This represents a slight diversification from our regular product range, but it is still made from trees!. We can now offer woodchip for sale in 0.9 cubic mere bags for only £60.
This woodchip is derived from a mix of softwood and hardwood (predominantly softwood). Its exactly the same woodchip that we use to burn in our biomass boiler. As our sister company Hedgesntrees Ltd brings in arb waste from their tree surgery operations we seperate it into 2 big piles softwood and hardwood. Twice a year, we hire in a massive chipper and have all the softwood chipped into what’s called G30 chip. This means the average size of the woodchips are 30mm.
This woodchip has zero leaf content. We then move a majority into a covered area to dry out ready for our boiler. The remainder is left outside and uncovered to season for a few months. This short seasoning process produces a pleasing uniform dark yellow colour.
This type of woodchip doesn’t offer too many benefits to your plants and shrubs in your garden borders. If your aim is to improve moisture or soil conditioning then our mulch is what you need!. Please see previous post. This woodchip is great for pathways and walkways, playground and covering large areas the require a natural ground dressing. Combine this with some good quality weed matting and itll suppress weed growth for a long time.
Our woodchip is very durable and looks great. Its very hard wearing and will take ages to break down. There is nothing artificial added. This woodchip is made up from virgin timber sourced locally.
